Welcome to the Wallace Ensemble, a versatile orchestra founded
by three former postgraduate conducting students at Trinity College
of Music. Its repertoire ranges from Baroque to Modern; from well-known
classics to new commissions. It has performed concerts specialising
in English Music of the Twentieth Century, and others featuring
works by great Germanic composers. It performs as a Chamber Orchestra,
a full Symphony Orchestra or in smaller ensembles. Its conductors
have appeared with the ensemble as soloists and composers, while
its musicians' expertise covers areas as diverse as jazz, early
music, ceilidh and klezmer.
Press Coverage
"...the fiery klezmer finale alludes
to Hava Nagila and concludes with a fizzing transformation of
Had Gadya, all of which virtuoso pianist Charles Owen and the
Wallace Ensemble, under the composer's deft baton, projected with
zest and panache."
